Electrolux is one of the world’s leading home-appliance manufacturers. We are very committed to US manufacturing and have recently invested more than 600 million USD in our American manufacturing operations. This includes two new state-of-the-art facilities in South Carolina and Tennessee making refrigerators, freezers, and cooking appliances. These facilities will allow us to expand capacity and introduce new innovative products.
Our Swedish heritage has always guided our sustainability commitment. We recently became one of the first companies in the world to sign on to the Science Based Targets initiative. This is a new global effort for companies to set climate targets that limit global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius compared with preindustrial temperatures.
As part of our Better Living Program to make our business circular and climate neutral, we are targeting climate-neutral operations by 2030. Our goal is to reduce absolute carbon dioxide emissions from operations by 80% and emissions from products by 25% by 2025. These climate-change goals are tied to our compensation.
